At Overwrought Garden Art, we have a large garden filled with an extensive range of metal garden art, outdoor decor and sculptures. Take a leisurely walk around and have a look at the artwork, garden furniture and other metal items that have been carefully hand-crafted from start to finish at our on site workshop.

Metal garden art is our specialty. Explore an assortment of metal artwork produced by talented local artists and garden art guest artists from all around the country. If you love art and sculpture, you will enjoy wandering around and admiring our diverse collection. Our artists have skillfully experimented with different textures, colors, and patterns, resulting in one-of-a-kind art pieces that will look great in your garden or outdoor area.

Our metalworks are on display for you to view up close and purchase on the spot. Some of our key products include:

Sculptures: Yard sculptures, shaped like leaves, abstract cubes or obelisks, and other art pieces to add to your outdoor space.

Have you ever wondered about the art of metal sculpting? How is it processed from raw metal and other materials into a beautiful work of art? What kinds of skills and equipment are needed? Join us for a guided art tour and see for yourself!

Our guided tours offer you a fascinating opportunity to learn about the type of art we produce and the process behind our metalwork. Accompany us behind the scenes and see where we make our sculptures, garden decor, and other products. If you’re curious about any aspect of the process or if you would like to know more about having a custom-made piece of garden art designed especially for you, feel free to ask our metalworkers while they’re on the job. They will gladly exchange ideas and offer advice.

Art tours are suitable for people of all ages who are up for an exceptional and memorable activity while visiting Daylesford and the surrounding areas.

What you can expect from the tour:

Our tours are 30 - 45  minutes in duration, starting with a warm welcome from our artist David Dawson who will take you on your tour.  You’ll then be taken into the inner working areas of our workshop.

David will talk you through the process of how we take raw Australian steel and creatively turn it into a broad range of products.You’ll see our  laser cutters in action and it’s rather entertaining to watch!

Next up, you’ll be taken around our manufuacuriug area and rusting yard and packing shed. Here you will see how our skilled welders and beaters have used the designs we have created to transform the raw metal into garden sculptures and various decor pieces.

The tour wraps up with a relaxing time in our sculpture garden by the fish ponds, sipping on a hot beverage and a biscuit or slice included in the tour cost.

At the end of the tour, you’ll receive a complimentary small metal art memento as a personal keepsake.

Days, times and group tour details:

Each tour starts in the Gallery area. Please make yourself known when you arrive and a tour guide will meet you and begin your session.

Group tours of 15 or more people receive a special discounted quote.

Flexibility with days and times are available if your group tour has 15 or more people.

Bookings are essential as tour numbers are limited to ensure you get an enriching experience with our team.

Cost for the tour is $25.00 per person.

This price includes a private tour with the owner artist, a hot beverage and sweet treat after the tour

and a small take home memento. Allow one to two hours for your tour.

For groups of 15 or more or bus tours we can offer flexibility with days and times and a discounts for larger groups.

Safety guidelines:

A safety vest is provided for you to wear during the tour.

Walkways must be adhered to at all times, as instructed by your tour guide.

Wearing a pair of sensible shoes is recommended as you will be touring a working factory.
